A “work tape” is a slang term for a rough recording done immediately after you have finished writing a song. ... They are simply a recording done so that the song exists officially for the first time in the form of music.

This is the work tape created by Elaine Lennon in her back room at home. Having no background in sound engineering, she taught herself how to record her songs using 'REASON' software her husband had on his PC. This, the unmaseterd work tape, is what she gave Producer Findlay Napier as a base for how she heard the song in her head at that time.

Findlay and Chem19 engineer, Paul Savage, really liked what she had created in the work tape and decided to use what they could from the original track, enhancing the sounds used, masterfully blending the fully electronic demo with live guitars (Iain Sloan), taking the original vocals and expertly mixing them to bring the track up to album quality : 'The Savage Mix' - Track 3 of this EP.
